In Partnership Strong Foundations

Since inception in 2000, Fusion has delivered more light steel residential structures than any other European producer, working with some of the most prestigious contractors and developers in the UK construction industry.

A Compelling Partnership

Following a decade of research, development and expansion in 2010, Fusion relocated to Northampton, continuing to grow and strengthening our position as a market leader, investing significantly in the continual development of our digital technology, products, and services through advanced manufacturing and development of our team.

In 2022, Fusion was acquired by leading housebuilder, The Hill Group, providing security for further investment and expansion. Fusion will now focus on designing, manufacturing, and installing structural light steel framing technology in mid-rise developments for apartments, student accommodation, care homes and hotels.

Our manufacturing operation will focus on capital intensive roll-forming and assembly of light steel frames using lean manufacturing processes and procedures. Our advanced manufacturing facility will also have the capability to provide structural kits for volumetric modules, bathroom pods and prefabricated utility cupboards (PUCs) – offering the opportunity for fully integrated structures.

Discover Our History

Fusion has been taking construction offsite into well-managed factories to produce precise, accurate, safe and efficient structures using pre-insulated light gauge steel systems for more than 20 years.

2000

First conceived in 2000 by an Irish Construction Entrepreneur, Fusion began as a means of delivering high-quality housing at speed, with less reliance on labour and the weather.

Since then, Fusion has delivered more light steel residential structures than any other European producer, working with some of the largest contractors and developers in the UK construction industry.

Growing rapidly into a multi-faceted business, Fusion fast became one of the largest manufacturers in Ireland. Investing significantly into learning and development, Fusion learnt how to deliver housing in high volume and technical know-how in fire and acoustics via extensive testing.

Fusion turned its focus from Ireland to the UK, achieving substantial growth.

2009

By 2009, the UK business had 14 concurrent projects running with one UK main contractor alone, with a total project value of over £200m – as in Ireland, the system was once again delivering real strategic advantage.

2010

In 2010, Fusion was acquired by Salvesen Insulated Frames Ltd, relocated to Northampton, and since then, has retained its position at the forefront of the offsite construction sector.

2022

With a further sale and new investment in 2022, Fusion is now enjoying consistent growth reflective of the substantial investment made into the continual development of the business, people, products, and services.
